I’ve only recently learned that my late acting hero, Edward Woodward (Breaker Morant, The Equalizer), had a healthy singing career in the 1970s. Here he is giving sacred, Church of England-approval to Yusuf Islam’s “Morning Has Broken” (he was still Cat Stevens back then) and a nicely theatrical version of Roberta Flack’s “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” tempered with just enough English reserve and stiff upper lip to be awe-inspiring.
