Young Miko blends hip-hop and trap on her addictive new single, “Wiggy.” The track, which she co-wrote, pays tribute to the iconic song “Aserejé,” originally performed by the renowned Spanish group Las Ketchup, with an infectious chorus reminiscent of the early aughts. With her characteristic Spanglish delivery, Young Miko evokes a lively night of partying that finds her conquering the heart of a girl who catches her attention. Listen HERE.
“Wiggy” was produced by Mauro (Anuel AA, Randy) and co-produced by Caleb Calloway and Avila WTF. Young Miko previously teamed up with Mauro and Calloway on “Classy 101,” her smash hit with Feid, which Billboard named as one of the top 10 Latin songs of the year 2023 so far.
Young Miko said, “Wiggy is a fun and nostalgic song that captures the essence of a generation and a piece of myself, having grown up around hip-hop and diverse influences, from both English and Latin backgrounds.”
In the official video for “Wiggy,” Young Miko and her crew finish another boring day of high school and get ready for a night in the club, where they take over the dancefloor. She shot the video in San Juan, Puerto Rico with director Joshua “Shot” Rivera, who also helmed the video for her viral hit “Lisa,” which has amassed over 55 million combined global views.
Young Miko’s “Trap Kitty World Tour” is currently underway. Earlier this week, she was among the first group of artists confirmed to participate in Billboard Latin Music Week, which will be held October 2 – 6, 2023 in Miami, FL. In this recent feature, Rolling Stone observed, “The Puerto Rican rapper has disrupted the urbano scene with her unapologetically raunchy lyrics, untouchable flow, and hyper-femme aesthetics.”
