Please be advised that as part of the National Homeland Security Conference that is being held in Chicago this week, there will be a multi-agency active threat response exercise that will be occurring along the Chicago River in front of the Hyatt Regency Hotel just west of the Columbus Drive Bridge at approximately 1:15pm on Wednesday, July 26th. This planned exercise will involve SWAT teams, helicopters, marine units, and numerous other emergency response assets and response activities from various agencies. The exercise will also include simulated gunfire, explosions, and water rescue operations. We wanted to be sure that you were aware of this planned event, so that it is not mistaken for a real active threat incident.

Simulated explosions!!?? Helicopters, SWAT teams, and marines, OH MY!!! LARD (Jello Biafra, Alan Jourgensen, and other free-thinkers) has a song called “Drug Raid at 4 A.M.” That would be a great soundtrack for tomorrow’s “war game.”
