Remember to breathe. That’s what I have to tell myself when I listen to Nanostorm’s latest EP, Cold Blooded. Falling into the genre of electronic hardcore/industrial/hardtechno, I can only describe the music as an assault on the eardrums brought forth by unconscionable distortion. You’ll find yourself scrunching your face in disgust, raising your eyebrows in surprise, and somehow tapping your foot to the 200 BPM pulse that seems to be punching you in the gut the entire duration of the piece. A totally appropriate response is “What the fuck did I just listen to”, and then you just keep on listening.
