Montreal synth act Le Couleur have shared “À la rencontre de Barbara,” featuring Standard Emmanuel of the acclaimed Montreal post punk band Choses Sauvages. The second single off their upcoming concept LP entitled Comme dans un penthouse out 9/22 via Lisbon Lux Records, the track fleshes out the record’s central character Barbara. A sultry and mysterious duet reminiscent of classic French chansons, the song is full of the band’s signature precise synths, with a wonderfully executed minor chord swagger.
Using Barbara, a character from 2016’s P.O.P. LP, as a symbol of excess and excitement, this 8 track speed train of an album will transport you to a realm of icy desire. The project is track after track of coy, sexy music executed with extreme restraint and patience; a paranoid and delirious dance party.
