“50 years ago Chicago released the classic Feeling Stronger Every Day on their 1973 album, Chicago VI. It was written by trombonist James Pankow and bassist/vocalist Peter Cetera, who was going through a divorce at the time. The song reached #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 list and was the first single from the album. Chicago features an outstanding horn section, of course. We don’t always have access to that kind of instrumentation so on the Couch Riffs cover of this tune we got creative by tapping into the guitar talents of Mike Hickey, formerly of Venom and Carcass. I hope you enjoy this fun version. We have a great band for this one! Please allow me to introduce them: vox: Chris Ballew (Presidents of the United States of America) drums: Jason McGerr (Death Cab For Cutie) guitars: Mike Hickey (Venom/Carcass) keys: Erin Rubin (Mode Music Studios) bass: Mike Squires (Ugly Kid Joe) mixed by Don Gunn at The Office, Seattle WA edited by Mike Squires at The Champagne Room, Mobile Euro Studio Thank you to Variety Coffee Roasters for their support! https://varietycoffeeroasters.com If you’re enjoying Couch Riffs videos and/or our podcast and would like to help support the growth and development of the shows please use the link below.
