The partnership between SM Entertainment and RCA Records was announced at a press conference on September 4th KST in Seoul. The news proves RIIZE’s power as global leaders of the next generation by signing with a major U.S. record label before making their official debut as it’s a rare occurrence for most K-Pop groups. “RIIZE is ushering in an exciting new era of K-Pop,” says Joseph Chang, CEO of SM and Kakao Entertainment America/CBO of SM Entertainment. “We are thrilled to partner with the amazing team at RCA and look forward to making history together.”
Peter Edge, Chairman and CEO of RCA Records says, “RIIZE are incredibly talented and versatile artists and we are excited to welcome them to the RCA Family and work together with the amazing SM team.”
“RIIZE are set to break new boundaries in global pop with an entirely fresh perspective. We are proud to partner with the incredible team at SM Entertainment and their incredible track record of artist development,” says John Fleckenstein, COO, RCA Records.
The single is available as a physical product along with its B-side, “Memories,” which was released last month and gave fans a sneak peek of what to expect from the group’s official debut [AVAILABLE HERE].
RIIZE – made up of SHOTARO, EUNSEOK, SUNGCHAN, WONBIN, SEUNGHAN, SOHEE, andANTON – is already taking the industry by storm, just over a month since they were announced. They broke the record for fastest K-Pop group to hit 1 million followers on Instagram, just four days after their account was launched. Last month, they made their live debut on stage at the iconic Crypto.com Arena for KCON LA in front of thousands of fans. Focusing on authenticity and relatability, RIIZE forges a deep connection with their ever-growing fanbase by sharing their down-to-earth personalities and humble moments at the start of their new journey.
The group name RIIZE combines two words – “rise,” symbolizing growth, and “realize” representing achievements – which together encapsulate the idea of a team that grows as one while achieving their dreams. The seven exceptional members all possess both talent and visual appeal. With each member bringing their own unique characteristics and strengths, they embark on a real-time odyssey as one team to make new history in the K-Pop industry.
RIIZE is SM Entertainment’s newest rookie group, launching approximately three years after the future-forward girl group aespa, and over seven years since the boundary-pushing boy group NCT, who have both achieved global success.
