Los Angeles, CA (November 30, 2023) – Dominican Republic’s breakout rap star and Latin Grammy nominee, J Noa, throws a Molotov cocktail on her new video for “Spicy” out today via Sony Music CAC. The song produced by famed Grammy winning producer, Trooko (Residente, Bad Bunny) kicks off her new sonic chapter. Earlier this week, she was nominated for a Videoclip Award 2023 from the Dominican Republic for her video “Betty,” part of her debut EP Autodidacta, under the category Best Hip Hop / Trap Video.
The potent visuals, directed by Lennyn Salinas (Kenia Os, Boza) and filmed in Santo Domingo, DR, open with J Noa performing alone in a dark and empty theatre. “The creative process for ‘Spicy’ was fun because I had to rap to empty chairs. On one of the chairs you can see a piece of paper that says reserved…this song is about me, my achievements and my versatility as a rapper, but also about making it spicy for those who compare me to other artists,” explains J Noa.
