Los Angeles, CA (December 6th, 2023) – The young rising artist, Moffa, releases Brazilian funk-inspired single, “TOKO,” today via SONAR. The song showcases Moffa’s versatility while he continues experimenting with new genres. Produced by Young Martino (Alvaro Díaz, Joyce Santana) and Young Hokage (Villano Antillano, Young Miko), “TOKO” incorporates elements of Brazilian funk, an homage to his heritage which Moffa is exploring for the first time.
“My team and I decided to step out of our comfort zone and experiment with Brazilian funk. An interesting fact about me is that I have Brazilian heritage but have never been able to meet my family from that part of my genealogy, so I haven’t been exposed to Brazilian music, let alone Brazilian funk. My engineer, Seba, came up with the idea, and I was immediately on board. Ultimately, we became big fans of the genre, and I am excited to keep exploring it,” shared Moffa about the single.
The visualizer for “TOKO” was directed by his frequent collaborator, Jomar Luciano, and shot at a billiards bar in San Juan, PR. The black and white visuals explore a couple on a romantic date enjoying each other’s company. “We wanted to give the video a retro vibe, like hanging out at an old school bar playing pool. But at the same time, making it known that the love interests are seducing one another, and giving the entire situation a provocative touch,” adds Moffa.
In his short career, Moffa has already proven he is poised to become a global artist. His remix of “Bentley” with Manuel Turizo and Young Martino, amassed over 1.5 million global streams and over 788k views on YouTube. His collaborations and co-signs by artists such as Karol G, PJ Sin Suela, King Savagge and Lyanno are indicative that he’s on his way to the top.
