“This is only the beginning of what we imagine will be a lifetime of storytelling for Brenn!.” – Ones To Watch
December 8, 2023 – Today, breakout singer-songwriter Brenn! returns with the raw and vulnerable new single “Looking For.” Bursting with wistful lyrics full of longing and emotional turmoil, the track confirms the buzzing artist’s status as one of his generation’s most uncompromising storytellers. “Looking For” follows additional 2023 singles “Rearview” and “Valapriso.”

“Why are we driving ‘cuz baby we’re running out of road,” he croons over sparkling acoustic guitar and banjo plucking. “Where are we goin’? Do either of us even know?” Later, at the deeply introspective chorus, he adds: “Don’t know what you’re looking for, but I know what you’re looking for ain’t me.” It’s angsty and melodic, rapturously capturing young love — and loss — with delicate precision.
The gut-wrenching new track is the crooner’s fourth single of 2023 following“Rearview,”“Valapriso” and his touching Billboard hit “4runner.” Each one more raw, intimate and addictive than the last. According to Brenn!, “Looking For” marks some personal growth for him as well. “Working on ‘Looking For’ with Mikky Ekko was a very good learning experience and a step out of my comfort zone,” he says. “I love this song and think that it is a good way to end the year.”
After Brenn!’s groundbreaking single “4runner”—which has amassed more than 49M streams on Spotifyalone and hundreds of millions of impressions on social media in just a few months—”Looking For” ups the ante, gifting listeners a powerful folk-pop track filled with heartache and introspection. Just one year ago, Brenn! was writing music in his bedroom while studying at the University of Alabama and now, with “Looking For” and more music on the horizon in 2024, it’s clear the 19-year-old viral hitmaker is just getting started.
More about Brenn!
Brennan Keller knows his upcoming gap year from the University of Alabama may soon get impossibly busy, whether or not he can yet walk on the ankles he shattered while making a music video in mid-April. After all, a few weeks after that artistic accident, Keller—known to his fans as Brenn!—broke into Billboard’s Top 50 after releasing the first full song he ever wrote, “4runner.” Within a month, that number grew sevenfold, propelling him onto 23 global charts. By the beginning of his gap year, Keller should be cleared to record again. Before the ankle incident, he’d already cut a set of sharp songs with Robinson, fueled by the same late-teenage reckonings that inspired “4runner.” They all feel like hits, really, their folk-rock charms as lived-in and comfortable as a favorite old sweater. Keller recognizes that, on the strength of these songs, the sessions and shows will likely turn into something of a mad dash. And if they don’t, this music thing was always a lark, the result of a heartbroken Christian kid who’s never had a girlfriend, a drink, a toke, or a first kiss. He obviously never wanted the hurt that inspired the hit, anyway. The worst that can happen, he knows, is that he returns to the University of Alabama after a particularly unpredictable part of his life and goes on to teach kids and have some of his own. One listen to “4runner,” though, and you’ll probably reach an obvious conclusion: It’ll be a while before Brennan Keller needs a backup plan.
