Georgia Reed is releasing her first single of the new year with ‘Back in Time,’ the second of three singles from her upcoming debut EP, set for release 13th March 2024.
‘Back in Time’ is a heartfelt offering from the alt-pop rising star, who describes the track as her “rainy day song.” The stripped-back, melancholic backdrop evokes images of Dido staring out a window on a miserable autumn Sunday, pouring heart and soul into a beautiful somnambulant ballad. Georgia’s brooding and soulful vocals occupy the spaces with delicate gothic allure, detailing a love lost and glimpses into an unrealized romantic tapestry. Commenting on its narrative, Reed added the song is “for everyone who has ever thought of what would have or could have been, even if they really were just rose-coloured glasses.”
Raised in Western Australia, Georgia Reed has a voice of velvet and a captivating stage presence that has entranced audiences over the years. During a 5-year hiatus, Reed found a new sense of belonging in London, establishing herself as a songwriter with a penchant for crafting dark, moody sounds and weaving cryptic narratives. Speaking of her decision to relocate, Reed said, “I’d always been influenced by UK bands and artists. It played a really big part for me.” Life has since fallen not apart, but together for Reed, and her eagerly anticipated new music proves to be as compelling and infectious as the pandemic-era backdrop in which it was created.
