QC’S BEO Lil Kenny drops his first new single of the year, “Click” along with an accompanying music video. The new track comes as follow-up to his debut full-length QC project, 1 Foot In 1 Foot Out (Gangsta Grillz) and follows his recent stint of performances including a hometown album release party in Memphis, a headline appearance in Atlanta, and a Famous Animal TV Freestyle. Kenny continues to bring listeners into the turbulent world full of obstacles he had to overcome in the streets of Memphis to position himself as one of the most promising rising acts in the rap game. The song’s ominous melody layered over a rattling 808 lay the foundation for Kenny to offload an onslaught of clever metaphors and punchlines detailing his grind to the top. The JDX directed music video highlights Kenny’s superstar looks as alternating clips of him rapping in the studio showing off his swagger while being “in Little Italy with it” as Kenny states, after previously not being able to travel outside of Nashville, asserts the fact that the southern rapper is finally doing what he was always meant to do.

“Click” is just another layer of Lil Kenny’s journey from the penitentiary back into everyday life and delivers a raw and authentic narrative of BEO Lil Kenny’s journey into the music industry. Recorded while Lil Kenny finished out a 5 year sentence in a Halfway house in Nashville, his 1 Foot In, 1 Foot Out Mixtape paints the Memphis native’s story of resilience and triumph as he describes his experience of having one foot still in the prison system, and one foot out in life as a recording artist.

Prior to 1 Foot In 1 Foot Out, BEO Lil Kenny had already begun to make waves in the Memphis music scene with his debut album It’s Up From Here. Facing the harsh reality of two potential life sentences, he turned to writing as a lifeline, convinced it would be his ticket to a second chance. Kenny used his time behind bars to write hundreds of songs, and recorded the entire project on his phone while still incarcerated.
