Big Machine Records’ Newcomer Finds Himself At A Crossroad with “Bed We Made” – Out NOW
NASHVILLE, TN (January 26, 2024) – Country newcomer LECADE today releases new song “Bed We Made,” available now via Big Machine Records. The reflective track mixes the 21-year-old’s fresh Pop-Country sound with a toiling rumination of the breaking point of a rocky relationship.

Written by LECADE and Austin Shawn (producer), “Bed We Made” plays off of the old saying “you’ve made your bed, now lie in it” and finds the narrator contemplating the end of a relationship, wondering if the good times of yesteryear can pull them through or if they’re sticking it out, “lying in the bed they made” even though the rifts seem just too big to overcome. With influences that include Tim McGraw, Drake and Kid LaRoy, the 21-year-old delivers a contemporary Country beat at a mid-tempo pace that while is honest and reflective, seems to only prolong the heartbreak through the examination of a relationship break down where there is plenty of blame to share.
“They say ‘the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results,’ and this song kind of applies that idea to relationships,” shares LECADE. “I think a lot of folks have been at that crossroads in a relationship where you’re deciding whether you want to stick it out because the past was so good and you’re already so far down the road or choose an entirely different future. It’s a tough place to be.”
LECADE fell in love with Country music at a young age, watching his dad play in dives and legendary honky tonks (like Tootsies) across the south with his band. The Mississippi and Louisiana-native got his start creating music in his bedroom by buying beats from YouTube creators and writing lyrics over them—which caught the attention of Nashville and TikTok alike. Averaging more than 2.4 million monthly listeners, he is growing his streams and has accumulated more than 100 million streams to date.
