The time has finally come for rising alt-pop rising star Georgia Reed to release her debut EP Haunted, after a run of three hauntingly beautiful singles. The highly anticipated drop is set for release on 13th March 2024 and will lift the curtain on a track Georgia has been eager to share in ‘Truth’.
With ghostly instrumentals and velvety brooding vocals, this five-track debut is the embodiment of its title. Each chapter of Haunted showcases the range of Georgia’s evocative vocals and captivates with its soul-stirring atmosphere. Opener ‘Back In Time’ riffs and whispers, whilst closer ‘Dreaming’ belts and runs between high and low crooning to tell the stories of love’s fragility and experiencing reborn independence, however it’s the previously unheard ‘Truth’ Georgia is eager to share with all. Written during a test of self-reliance, the realities of newfound autonomy are explored in ‘Truth’. “I always thought when people said they wrote a song from start to finish, all in one sitting, that they were lying…but then I wrote Truth,” Reed says of the track, adding that the creation was “a product of my home alone freestyling.” Independence being at the heart of the EP’s creation, embodied by the words on ‘Truth’.
“I really wanted to take my time and do things my way, in every sense that I could,” Reed stated of the EP, “There were actually a lot fewer people involved on this project because of the pandemic. I found myself recording my vocals at home and working on production with James [Newhouse – producer] via Zoom because all the studios were closed. It was really refreshing to work in such a different way, and I think it made it really special.”
Producer James Newhouse and mixer Sean Cook are some of the people who helped to make the EP such a special experience for Georgia. Collectively, they have worked with artists like Roger Waters, San Cisco, Hozier, MGMT and have now come together to create Haunted. Their expertise, alongside Reed’s undeniable vocal talent and velvety touch, results in a gripping, dynamic, and highly anticipated EP.
Georgia Reed’s debut EP, Haunted, will be released on 13th March 2024, with focus track ‘Truth’ being previewed the same day.
