NORWAY’S MARSAW FUSES AFRICAN RHYTHMS WITH OLD SKOOL HOUSE ON NEW SINGLE

Following the success of his debut single ‘Underwater Station (Safer)’, Norwegian visionary electronic artist MARSAW returns with ‘Don’t Wanna Know’ on April 26th. This latest offering is our second glimpse into what is in store for MARSAW’s upcoming project ‘Paroxysms’.

Drawing from the diverse musical influences of his upbringing, ‘Don’t Wanna Know’ merges the soulful tones of R&B vocals with the vibrant rhythms of African percussion, all set against the backdrop of Europe’s bass-driven electronic scene. As a tribute to his varied heritage, MARSAW weaves together an eclectic mix of musical styles into a sound that’s entirely his own as he transitions from his previous artistic persona. It all culminates in his forthcoming EP, ‘Paroxysms,’ which captures  a narrative arc of three distinct chapters, each a cohesive yet varied exploration of sound that echoes MARSAW’s artistic transformation fused with the blend of his African and European roots.

Of the project, MARSAW said “Each track within this project is a testament to my journey of self discovery and reinvention—a sonic reflection of the person I am  today and the artist I aspire to be. It’s not just about the music; it’s  about embracing authenticity, embracing growth, and embracing  the freedom to create without boundaries. This project is my  declaration of independence—a bold step forward into a future  where I am unapologetically myself.”

MARSAW, pronounced Mar-Saw, is the enigmatic alias of Martin Sawyer, a visionary  electronic music artist who has sculpted a unique space in the industry with a fusion  of authenticity and thought provoking vibes. Born out of a two-decade-long journey  of artistic growth and personal evolution, MARSAW’s moniker is more than just a  name—it’s a playful twist on Martin’s full identity, a symbol of the artist’s commitment  to remaining true to himself while navigating the dynamic landscape of electronic  music.
