Country-rock star, LGBTQ+ artist, and advocate Jenna DeVries will release her power-packed new single, “Self-Made,” on April 26th.

DeVries shares the inspiration behind the single, “We live in a world built for men to succeed, and in this world, the women who have held these men up or been left bleeding out in the wake of their pursuit of power or control are just forgotten. Men are the exceptions, while women are just statistics. I wrote this song as an anthem for women AND men – it’s a reminder that literally every man’s story started with a woman – AKA, your momma. If you really take a second to think about it, there’s no such thing as a self-made man. Every man’s story or success originates with a woman’s sacrifice – and I think it’s important to remember that.”
DeVries, an acclaimed talent named as one of NSAI’s ‘Songwriters To Watch,’ has an impressive career trajectory, including a coveted spot in American Idol’s Top 24.
Her hit single, “Daddy’s Little Heart Attack,” was spotlighted on CMT’s Next Women of Country playlist and was also featured on Wide Open Country‘s list of new must-hear songs.
Her early collaboration with Adam Mac on “Unholy” and her popular track “Drunk Girls” ft. Harper Grae further solidified her position in the industry, earning over a million Spotify streams and support from People Country, CMT, and Viacom.
