Fuerza Regida’s “Pero No Te Enamores” Tour 2024 Rolls Into Portland, by Mateo Lambert

Fuerza Regida brought their latest tour, “Pero No Te Enamores” (But Don’t Fall In Love) to Portland’s Moda Center on June 29. The band consists of lead vocalist Jesús Ortíz Paz, lead guitarist Samuel Jaimez, guitarist Krystian Ramos, tuba player José García, and tololoche player Moisés López. The tour highlighted tracks that have earned them placements on numerous lists for top albums and hits, including their latest album, “Pa las Baby’s y Belikeada,” released in October, and their most recent EP, “Dolido Pero No Arrepentido,” launched in February.

Moments before taking the stage, the crowd began singing in unison to the opening playlist echoing through the speakers, creating a moment of collective anticipation that further united at the band’s arrival. While typically recognized as a regional Mexican American band, Fuerza Regida blends modern styles like trap and hip-hop to traditional Mexican music styles such as corridos and norteño. The enthusiastic and engaged crowd here in Portland underscores their rise to prominence in the broader musica mexicana genre.
