Los Angeles, CA (July 18, 2024) – Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, composer, and pianist Bodine unveils her latest single and visualizer “X n la espalda X n el cuello” through Trambo Records. The slow, sensual beat was produced by XAY and Blvck95, with lyrics penned by Bodine, capturing a memory from someone in her past.
The song delicately explores themes of longing and moving on, as Bodine reflects on a past relationship where the other person tried to reconcile with her. When speaking of dissecting the memory and writing the song, the artist shared, “it was challenging for me to let go of that person, but I realized that he was only doing me harm, and so I went out to hunt for another, a better one.”
The visual, directed by Joaquin Castillo (JT, Elsa Hosk, PAPER Magazine), embodies drama. Styled by Mario Solares and with makeup by Rory Alvarez, Bodine is illuminated by a bright spotlight, portraying a ventriloquist clad in a striking two-piece outfit adorned with nails, holding a puppet version of herself. “I wanted to incorporate the puppet because it represents how he manipulated me. He showed happiness, but in the end, what made me sad couldn’t be explained,” shared the artist. “It represents the contrast of emotions.”
