Sept. 6, 2024 – Today, Nashville-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Conner Youngblood has released his highly-anticipated new album Cascades, Cascading, Cascadingly via Missing Piece Records. Garnering early praise from FLOOD Magazine, Under The Radar and more, Cascades, Cascading, Cascadingly is a dreamy series of meditations steeped in desire and yearning, loneliness and loss, exhilaration and escape.
Youngblood has been named WNXP’s Artist of the Month for September and shared insight about his home studio process and how his love for learning languages informed the album. He also recently stopped by WNYC’s Soundcheck for an in-studio session and conversation.

Written and recorded in Youngblood’s Nashville bedroom, Cascades, Cascading, Cascadingly finds him toying with magical realism and singing in a variety of languages including Japanese (“スイセン”), Russian, Spanish and Danish (“Misundelig”). Sonically, the arrangements on Cascades, Cascading, Cascadingly are surreal and cinematic, conjuring enthralling worlds full of chaos and wonder. In addition to producing and engineering the record, Youngblood played every instrument on the album himself, and the result is an unfiltered journey deep into the subconscious of a relentlessly curious artist, one with an insatiable appetite for musical exploration. Highlights include the reverb-drenched “Blue Gatorade,” the dreamy “Reveille!”, the horror-film inspired “All They Want Is Violence” and the wistful “Running through the Tøyen arboretum in the spring.”
Hailed by Pitchfork for his “ambient, intimate…songs that blossom gently with intricate musical details and enigmatic lyrics,” Conner Youngblood broke out internationally in 2018 with his critically acclaimed debut album, Cheyenne. The Guardian compared the Dallas native to Elliott Smith and Nick Drake, dubbing him “One To Watch” for his “quietly striking” performances, which have included international dates with the likes of Janelle Monae, SOHN, KT Tunstall, and Milky Chance.
