September 6, 2024 – Today, R&B singer/songwriter Fridayy shares a new cinematic music video for his latest single “Baddest In The Room.” The GRAMMY Award-nominated multi platinum sensation pays homage to the 1988 Eddie Murphy classic Coming To America with cameos from hip-hop legend LL Cool J. Directed by Mike The Shooter and co-directed by Edgar Cutino, the video intercuts Fridayy’s own love story with scorching moments in the club, laidback conversation at the barbershop, and a contest to quite literally determine the “Baddest In The Room.”
Since arriving earlier this summer, “Baddest In The Room” has already amassed 15 million Spotify streams and 7 million on Apple Music. It also earned widespread critical acclaim. Billboard spoke to him about the song on the red carpet at the 2024 BET Awards, and HotNewHipHop applauded how “Fridayy shows off his dynamic vocal range as usual here.” In addition to plugs from HipHopDX and more, BET touted it on “New Music Friday.”
It follows the emotionally charged and heartfelt “When It Comes To You.” Beyond tallying nearly 600 million streams and counting and garnering critical acclaim, the song is now RIAA Platinum-certified.
Stretching the scope of his talents, he recently teamed up with The Chainsmokers for “Friday.” Earning acclaim, EDM.com applauded how “The Chainsmokers recapture ‘Roses’ magic with carefree anthem alongside Fridayy,” and HotNewHipHop christened him “one of R&B’s most soulful singers.” WE RAVE YOU hailed it as “a trifecta of pure excellence” and promised, “Destined for nothing less than the very top of the charts, ‘Friday’ is the epitome of a track that will have anyone out of their seats and straight onto the nearest dance-floor in no time at all.”
