Pijamapaul’s “La Buena Suerte” – A Captivating Blend of Latin Indie Pop, Dreamy Harmonies and 70s Swedish Cinema

“La Buena Suerte” by Pijamapaul is a vibrant exploration of destiny and renewal, recorded in the serene backdrop of the Irati Forest. This track masterfully blends organic Latin-Indie pop with tropical textures and bright arrangements, infused with harmonies reminiscent of Alternative music, Dream-pop, and Afro-pop. The lyrics navigate life’s challenges with a humorous and optimistic lens, celebrating the beauty of existence and the possibility of starting anew.

In the words of Pijamapaul: “Last summer I spent the whole month of July in a small cabin-studio in the Irati Forest. There I recorded this simple song about destiny, fortune and mystery, to sing in community. A song about difficulties and challenges, the search for peace and renewal, the possibility of starting over. It uses the sea and water as recurring symbols of destiny, calm, change and eternity. ‘La Buena Suerte’ combines an organic Latin-Indie pop with very bright colors and precious arrangements with tropical textures accompanied by harmonies inspired by Alternative music, nods to Dream-pop and Afro-pop, and a pure Indie DNA.”

Footage for this music video was taken from the 1970 Swedish film “En Kärlekshistoria” directed by the maestro Roy Andersson, starring Ann-Sofie Kylin and Rolf Sohlman.
