Siouxsie and the Banshees – “Sin in My Heart” Live 1983, by Steve Stav

Good Friday, fellow sinners. As a nod to the announcement of iconic drummer Budgie’s upcoming biography, I offer to you something to keep the blood flowing on what is hopefully your last day of this godforsaken week.

The Cure’s Robert Smith, using an e-Bow with his fabulous guitar. Budgie, whose swinging style simultaneously attacks with a vengeance; Steven Severin, whose rumbling bass threatens to dislodge the rafters at this Royal Albert Hall. And of course Siouxsie, attempting to raise the dead with that iconic voice – and with her iconic Vox Teardrop.

People say to me, “Steve, you gotta admit – some of this ‘new’ music is pretty good.”

And I always reply with a push of ‘Play,’ “Sure… but not nearly this good.”
