“Expect a larger-than-life energy to her iridescent make-up, Stevie Nicks-esque boot-and-blazer get-ups and ready-to-risk-it-all ballads that are abundant in brutally honest and vulnerable storytelling lyrics, layered with 80s synths and insatiable pounding gated reverb.”
– Nonchalant Magazine
“There’s something deliciously defiant about Caroline Kingsbury’s approach to pop music… Kingsbury is creating the kind of representation she never had growing up. In indulging her inner-child, she’s carving out space for the next generation to grow up in a world of full-spectrum colour – embracing all that they are.”
– DAZED“
[“Take My Phone Away” is] an explosive bit of synthwave straddling the line between vintage glow and boundary-pushing contemporary songwriting that documents an equally empowering feeling that arrives in the aftermath of a pivotal moment in Kingsbury’s romantic life.” – FLOOD
” I Really Don’t Care! [is] fifteen nonstop minutes of bold and breathtakingly passionate indie pop that will have audiences dancing like no one’s watching, singing like no one’s listening, and smiling uncontrollably from ear to ear – because this isn’t just feelgood music; it’s feelgreat music.”
– Atwood
In October, Los Angeles indie-pop songstress Caroline Kingsbury released her newest EP, I Really Don’t Care! The EP is a dazzling masterclass in sparkly queer pop, true to Caroline’s signature 80s sound with ethereal synths and crashing drums. Each song is raw, honest, fun and uniquely Caroline Kingsbury. “Caroline is a singer’s singer, a rockstar’s rockstar, and a vulnerable storyteller all at the same time,” songwriter Justin Tranter says.
Never content to sit still for too long, Caroline will be joining Pom Pom Squad on their Mirror Ball Tour, from February through April this year. Tickets are on sale now and more information is available here.

Caroline Kingsbury is a queer artist born and raised in the church. She had little access to secular music until her teen years when its discovery led her to run headfirst toward a life in music. Heaven’s Just A Flight, her 16-song debut album, was praised by Pitchfork as “a collage of stylistic eras united by their outsized personalities from disco to post-punk…Recalling the naked vulnerability of Kate Bush or Karen O.”
Kingsbury’s I Really Don’t Care! was preceded by the singles “Take My Phone Away,” “Alabama,” and lead single “Our House,” each offering a glimpse into her sophomore EP. “Caroline is a singer’s singer, a rockstar’s rockstar, and a vulnerable storyteller all at the same time,” songwriter Justin Tranter said.
She recalls, “With I Really Don’t Care!, I went into the writing process with an open heart and alongside Charlie Brand, Justin Tranter, and Ryland Blackinton we brought my sound into a new dimension that I have never tapped into before.” I Really Don’t Care! is a culmination of the three years since she released her debut album, Heaven’s Just a Flight.
“Everything I write is personal,” Caroline continues. “No matter how hard I try to be mysterious, I can’t help but share my life and my story with you. I try to be a chill girl but I’m not. My first lesbian heartbreak (which is its own special brand of heartbreak of its own), family estrangement after having that first lesbian relationship, and working late shifts to pay my rent – I Really Don’t Care! shows that no matter how hard I try I really do care..I’ve come to accept that it’s my superpower.”
I Really Don’t Care! released on October 18th.
“Fall In Love,” off her debut, was featured in Scream (2022) and most recently “Breaking Apart” featured on Never Have I Ever (Season 4) on Netflix.
