Joel Gabrielsson from Uppsala, has been making his mark on the Swedish music scene with his voice and atmospheric soundscapes.
With the new single MYRRA, he interprets the deeply mystical thousand-year-old Old Testament text in the Song of Solomon. The track is a musical journey through the ether, where the listener is swept into an otherworldly dream world. With inspiration from the most electric part of the Song of Solomon, Joel has attempted to bridge the earthly and heavenly, a musical poem where passion and mystery meet in an interplay between longing and complete togetherness. The poetic text captures the fragile elixir of desire, which could be described as sacred. This is Joel’s first expression in Swedish, where the voice and the composition together transmit a resonance that settles in all layers of the listener.
MYRRA (Höga Visan) was written and recorded in the spring of 2024 by Joel Gabrielsson in his home studio in Uppsala and embellished and completed together with the following musicians and artists: Manne von Ahn Öberg (Mix/Master), Kieli (vocals/violin), Mi von Ahn (vocals), Tim Enberg (Synthesizers),
