Los Angeles, CA (April 4th, 2025) – Mexican-Dominican artist Ambar Lucid unveils her latest single and visual, “6am,” via Nice Life Recording Company. Made alongside production duo The Wavys(JISOO, NMIXX), the track creates a twinkling soundscape for Ambar’sdelicate songwriting as she navigates giving her heart to a new love after being in a stifling relationship. “6am” is part of Ambar’s magical return to music and marks a true evolution in her sound.
The song radiates with the vulnerability that has become a hallmark of Lucid’s artistry. Ambar’ssilky vocals as she sings through the verses starkly contrast with the muted screams she expresses in the chorus, where the anger and confusion coincide. Her longing to forget an unhealthy dynamic and venture into something more comfortable remains easier in theory than in practice. “‘6am’ was inspired by the realization I made about myself and my tendency to fall in love with people who recreate the mental suffering I experienced in my childhood. As I grow wiser and more self-aware, I try to steer away from personalities that hurt me but inevitably, when I fall in love again, I risk manifesting the same cycle. These are the kinds of observations that keep me up at night, smoking weed and digging deeper into my psyche,” shares Ambar.
The song comes out alongside a pared-down visual, featuring Ambar in her everyday dreamy state – leisurely smoking, shuffling through tarot cards, and surrounding herself with flowers.
Recently, Lucid released “There Goes My Baby,” her first release with Nice Life Recording Company and her first in nearly a year. Plus, she has returned to the stage with notable performances at Hollywood Forever’s Día de Los Muertos celebration, Penguin Random House’s Love in Libros show in New York, and at last month’s Sundance Film Festival as part of the ASCAP Music Cafe (American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers).
