Dig it, Frank Ocean’s “Lost”
Upcoming Album VSQ Performs Frank Ocean Out April 25 via CMH Label Group/Vitamin Records
April 11, 2025: Today, pop-culture inspired instrumentalists Vitamin String Quartet (VSQ) share their classical rendition of Frank Ocean’s track “Lost,” which will appear on their forthcoming album VSQ Performs Frank Ocean, out April 25 via CMH Label Group/Vitamin Records. Originally appearing on Ocean’s critically acclaimed seminal debut album Channel Orange, this shape-shifting string cover puts VSQ’s signature versatility on full display.

“After over a decade of performing and recording with VSQ, I truly feel this might be our coolest record yet,” says violist Tom Lea about the new single. “Frank Ocean’s music has had a profound impact on so many lives, and it feels like the perfect moment to release this song. I’m incredibly proud of the arrangement and performance – we poured a lot into it – and I think anyone who loves music will feel something here too.”
“Lost” follows Vitamin String Quartet’s dreamy take on Ocean’s “Pink + White,” which garnered praise from COMPLEX, Exclaim! and more. VSQ Performs Frank Ocean offers 13 string renditions of the R&B icon’s most enduring songs — ranging from “Novacane” and “Thinkin Bout You” to “Ivy,” “Chanel” and more.
With over 2 billion streams and over 1 million physical units sold, VSQ is known for their classical reinterpretations of pop hits. Fresh off high-profile placements in the Netflix and Shondaland original hit series Bridgerton, VSQ has “reached a mainstream, global audience” (Variety) and “charmed the world with their classical covers” (Nylon). The group has had 11 Billboard charting albums, with their 2024 release VSQ Performs Taylor Swift hitting #1 on both the Classical and Classical Crossover charts.
Across over 300 releases, Vitamin String Quartet have produced cutting-edge string renditions of a highly eclectic mix of artists, erasing boundaries between classical, dance, hip-hop, rock, and pop. From Lil Nas X to Björk, Studio Ghibli to gothic metal, VSQ approaches their renditions with respect and care, breathing new life into music they already love. The Quartet’s string stylings have also been featured in HBO’s Westworld, ABC’s Modern Family, the Judd Apatow-directed The King of Staten Island, among many others. In addition, the ensemble has appeared onscreen with 30 Seconds to Mars for an episode MTV Unplugged as well as an episode of Gossip Girl.
VSQ will embark on a tour of the Northeast U.S. and the U.K. this May, and recently announced an extensive US fall tour – see below for a full list of show dates or visit their website.
