Berlin-based art-rock ensemble Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys will embark on their first-ever UK tour this May, kicking off on May 7th in Bristol. The tour follows the release of their upcoming single “Reaching”, out April 24th.

Known for their blend of art-pop, ambient noise, and dark folk, the band has drawn comparisons to Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Sonic Youth, PJ Harvey, and Aldous Harding. Their sound moves between quiet intensity and raw urgency—drifting from dreamlike drones to driving, angular energy, a recipe that creates an electrifying live experience bordering the surreal.

The tour comes after the critical success of their sixth studio album, A Human Home (2024), and will see the band play ten shows across the UK, including performances at Focus Wales and The Great Escape. Led by South African-born Lucy Kruger (vocals, guitar), the lineup also features Liú Mottes (guitar), Jean-Louise Parker (viola, vocals), Sally Whitton (bass), and Gidon Carmel (drums).

Their newest offering, “Reaching”, explores the tension between communication and disconnection, presence and absence, silence and noise. The song moves between fragile connections and sudden ruptures, both in its sound and subject matter. A metronomic, tense, and woozy waltz underscores Lucy’s almost spoken-word search for meaning, as words are pieced together in an attempt to make sense of an unsettling silence. When language falls short, grinding guitars fill the void, offering a visceral expression of the violence inherent in absence. Like much of The Lost Boys’ music, there’s a quiet tension throughout, with the guitars providing brief moments of respite, yet also intensifying the claustrophobic atmosphere. “Reaching” is raw, searching, and deeply evocative—a striking exploration of longing, fracture, and the complexity of human connection. “I think the song tries to capture how cacophonic the quiet can feel.” Kruger adds.

Recipients of the Europavox Spotlight Prize in June 2023, the band has performed at festivals such as Orange Blossom Special, In-Music, Roadburn, Grauzone, Reeperbahn, MENT, Wave-Gotik-Treffen, New Colossus Festival, Fusion Festival, Left of The Dial, Synästhesie and SXSW. Beyond The Lost Boys’ Lucy Kruger’s resonant voice has been featured on new releases by Swans and the Underground Youth. Additionally, Kruger was selected for the Keychange Initiative which seeks to promote gender equality in the global music industry.

“Reaching” is available to stream from April 24th. Catch their UK tour beginning May 7th in Bristol, dates and tickets below.
