Fyre Festival was our generation’s Woodstock.
Our culture is dominated by Rich thieves selling fake things that are doomed to fail, because they are built on big lies.
We create billion dollar companies that are built on nothing but disruption, in a less than zero sum game that is pushing the middle class out of existence as a modus operendi. As if there will never be hell to pay. As if these rats are not just eating at the pillars.
Sure one festival ended up with the young and rich nearly eating one another with nothing but plastic utensils and basic mustard.
But that is who they are. Bigger fools with bigger lawyers. You rip off the rich you go to jail. You rip off the poor you’re lawyered up and they call you an innovator.
Fyre Festival is a reflection of the spirit of our times and what is to come.
Our economy is based on speculation and start ups that have contributed little but starter kits on how to eat our beating hearts, because we have lost our souls.
We are entering an era where events, services, organizations, and societies, like start ups we pretend we should cherish so deep, are doomed to fail.
We are not working with craftman, but rather the draftsman of digital pyramids of bullsh☆t that will turn words like “slavery” into “extended internships”, and failure into victory for those who refuse to actually learn from failure and just keep stealing.
You know…Pirates. Looters of the sea. Agents of kings; the fathers of bribes.
I look forward to seeing the documentary about a little Bedlam Isle that reflects our massive failure pile writ large in the desperate screams of the rich who missed their first meal.
Revolutions are not really glorious, they are paved in blood and decapitations. And that’s not really a good thing in a world where the rich keep getting richer from the Naomi Klein’s well articulated explanation of the massive economy of disaster capitalism.
The tipping point was passed when Disasters became a driver of Capitalism. As we crossed the Rubicon to the shouts of Jah Rule chanting “murder” the disintegrating bones of Jonathan Swift laughed as his pages trembled.
Let the Rich eat the Rich and Poor feed the Poor. But beware of the cost when the middle class is no more.
