Here is a little Easter egg!
I was filming myself singing the lullaby ‘Andrea’ that I wrote for my niece minutes ago, and Andrea pops in. It’s sweet. I wrote this for her in this house soon after she was born, as her grandmother she now calls Abuela was holding her. My mother looked up at me with so much love in her eyes at her first grandchild, and asked,
“What do you thinking she is dreaming about?”
So I wrote a lulluby about that. Today Andrea is dreaming about seeing Paris, so when I finally record this song, I need help translating this into French.
This is why I launched a Patreon. With the support of my friends I’ll finally record songs like this and maybe place a French version on one of my upcoming albums, like Creoles.

Right now for $10 a month 50 people that come on board get a piece of the publishing on ‘Free Your Mind’. Plus some other amazing things I have cookin’ like an annual private soiree, where we debut new songs and recordings.
But that’s the beginning. I gave all the publishing to this song to Andrea when she was a baby, but I know she’d be willing to put some of her publishing towards getting this song recorded the best possible way we can, to make her lullaby a hit.
Because I think like ‘Free Your Mind’, with just the right touch, it could be a hit. A French version would open this song up to a whole new audience in France, and potentially West Africa. Francaphone nations like Mali.
I have some songs like this that could really go places. Finally having help incredible organizations like Tuff Gong International is a game changer. But really, it’s about the kindness of my friends and family who believed in me through these years. That I had good songs, and if I kept going, plenty more.
