NYC band, described a psych punk by today’s music media types.. we say think Gun Club. Really worth checking out
3 Hoarder – Grunt of Affirmation (27)
Nice piece of techno, although we wish somebody would put some WD40 on that gate they keep opening and closing.
4 Tenesha The Wordsmith – Madea (92)
James Baldwin would love this. The sound of America’s forgotten.

Slice of UK hoody hip hop .. you know the score.
6 Breanna Barbara – Sailin’ Sailin’ (164)
Wonderful piece of contemporary UK blues that reminds us in part of PJ Harvey with a rather wonderful Door s undertow. Check out all her releases. Very good indeed.

Unfortunately it’s only a teaser on YT. But you’ll get the message . Think Radio Birdmen and Search & Destroy era Stooges.
8. Seaside Witch Coven – Pink Freud (175)
Raw rocking out vibe on this one with some great searing geetar solos.
9 Sir Don – Yardies In Court (275)
It was Notting Hill Carnival last week. This old school Pablo Uptown style tune would have sounded great cranked up on Westbourne Grove.
10 Bob Vylan – Lynch Your Leaders (319)
There’s been some tunes this year but this is the tune of the year for us. Advice we should all act on . More Clash than the Pistols. More PE than KLF .. this is the track for us.

Released on Sydney’s wonderful eclectic label, Metal Postcard, Roi are the latest project from Brian Bordello and with son, Dan Shea on board, this is essentially two thirds of The Bordellos with John McCarthy.
This results in a cross between Half Man Half Biscuit and lo-fi Kraut Rock. Bordello’s minimal production hides what a lyrical genius he is. There’s a self depreciating wit amongst the clever puns that gets missed at times.
