Get Out and See “You Love Who You Love” by Davin Michael Stedman

Things I didn’t know I needed this morning. My friend from college, the MC Kady M. Kane just popped up in my feed as the star of a film heading to film festivals right now.

He was always proudly repping his Native American heritage and his experiences coming up in a Reservation. Now he’s in a movie exploring the same topics.

…and the producer Ty Weathers AKA Tyrant, that produced his first hit that broke on regional pop radio big in our day, is listed as a co-star. Ty was the first producer to have me sing, write hooks, and feature on a professional project. A real silver disc. He went on with Derek Stephens to go from producing local Hip Hop hits to becoming a hit maker in Nashville.

This is the kind of thing a friend better support. If it’s good, it’s gonna’ be great. Making an independent film ain’t easy because there are so many factors like casting, a script and editing that can make or break even a 100 million dollar movie.

But just like when Ty would show me beats back in the day and Kane would bust raps, what’s good is undeniable.

…and Kane got a lane. I’m here believing my homie can be the Native America heart throb. The Brad Pitt of Indigenous America. He can at least be the Native American Jon Bon Jovi.

Get it Kane! I’ll buy some tickets.
