“High Highs to Low Lows is a story about my last two years. It’s crazy because “Chain” and “Money Diamonds Roses” show the change that’s happened since I put out my album in April. I’m starting to question friendships in “Chain”, and reconsider what really matters in “Money Diamonds Roses”. It’s not the me that has “no gold on my neck, no 0s on my check” it’s theme that has traveled the world, got my own apartment, made some money, and came all the way back home to find that the low lows never really stop.
I think “Chain” and “Money Diamonds Roses” fit perfectly in the world that Stelios and I created with this album, and then I don’t even know where to start on the E-40 feature. I grew up in the Bay and he’s just one of my favorite rappers of all time. I remember meeting E-40 at his album release signing in 2012. Now I have his number and honestly there’s no one else I’d want more on my first album. If high school me heard the song she’d freak the fuck out.”
It’s been an incredible 2019 for Lolo, who appeared in the Fall 2019 global COACH campaign as one of the newest muses for the iconic brand – shot by Juergen Teller. Earlier this year, Lolo was also introduced as a new face of Tommy Hilfiger, and continues to work with both Tommy and now Nike – for whom she has modeled the latest Nike TN3. With acknowledgments across the board from Vogue, i-D, DAZED, Hunger, Wonderland, Clash, The Guardian, Complex, Evening Standard, Schön and more, Lolo’s music is unavoidable.
Since stepping on the scene with her viral single “High Highs to Low Lows” in 2017, Lolo’s ascent has been a rapid one; studded with star moments that most only dream of. From humble beginnings as a teenager recording songs in her bedroom, Zouaï has catapulted herself into the world of her peers and influences. With an amazing growing fanbase (known as “The Loriders”), the San Francisco-hailing songwriter continues to solidify her musical catalog. From selling out shows across the world to contributing as a songwriter on H.E.R.’s Grammy-award-winning debut album and collaborating with Dev Hynes (Blood Orange) on their single “Jade.”
