What frightens me is how Facebook allows us to insulate ourselves from reality and abuse us with our own delusion. Oh you think Trump is doing a great job? The advertisers and Super Pacs and pro-Russians bots are here to feed you that reality.
You are on the Left, well there’s a whole different set of interests feeding you this and that to sell you garbage and feed your frenzy.
You fear the mistreatment of animals? Well that’s not my bag so my feed isn’t full of abused animals. But if that keeps you up at night, your newsfeed is programmed to feed your own nightmare and keep you coming back.
This is a Dystopian nightmare with our dystopian nightmare President. And we’re all hooked to our phones being fed what is programmed for us as it feeds off our fears and sells our weakness to the highest penny bidder.
AI is just in its infancy and we’ve been figured out.
It’s just a bummer man. You kids won’t ever know what the 90s was like, before 2001. You can stream the songs, look at Cobain and Pac on Google images and buy the Ts at Target, but that was THE END.
The 2000s were Garbage and they led to the Crash. The 2010s had some promise but led to Trump.
I’m an Optimist. But this is where people just get used to it. And the boot has yet to drop. We bailed our way out of the Great Recession, we all swallowed The Patriot Act.
But the cameras are everywhere, the culture is divided and the darkness that Grunge and Gangster Rap alluded to are no longer novelties we entertain, but specteres rapping at our door.
China is full on 1984 and Hong Kong is in Rebellion. But America is asleep.
We go to War…will there be protests and protests songs on the radio? Nope.
Nada. Roe V Wade is inching towards the reality of it being overturned and the people that should be fighting it are just Keeping Up With Kardashians, as the Kardashians back the Orange man planting anti abortion judges in courts across the land.
We’re cooked.
That’s why I just try to read old books. I want to remember. This time before The F☆ckening.
