5 TOMY & The Cougars – Bed Thoughts (139)
2nd mention for this lot this week as “seagull with a chip” loves another one of their tunes. Never thought i’ d hear a band again who actually capture the sound and the feel of the likes of the Members, 999, Penetration and others. Well worth checking out especially as they kick off using the classic rejects , East End, riff.
6 Sasha Caro – Never Play A B Side (435)
Except this one. Fantastic west coast psychedelia tune and i’ve already forgotten about the novelty title.
7 Nu Jacks – House Sensation (7)
Cool.. 2020 hip house with a toasting vibe. Optimo are a lebel that just keeps on giving.
8 Tot Taylor – Yoko Oh (225)
Somebody other that John not hating on Yoko. That’s got to be a good thing.
Tot Taylor is a Cambridge-born, London-based songwriter, composer, record producer and author. He was a songwriter, singer, performer and band member throughout the seventies, eighties and nineties[1] as well as composer of film soundtracks and theatre scores including stage-productions for the UK’s National Theatre.

Rare to hear an outfit who can combine the guitar with electronics,these days & make it sound new. This lot do. Best way to describe them would be take a pinch of add n to x , chuck a bit of Mr Murphy in and then move it forward a few years. Hope to hear more from them.

I fully concur . This is without a shadow of a doubt the track of the week for BOP. We hear rumours that there’s a Head Heritage connection with this release. The whole album is a wonderful amalgam of most things on the funkier side of our galactasphere for the past 50 odd years. Buy it now …
