New York native Elah Hale, whose name is the same forwards as backwards, has released her debut EP Room 206 on all DSPs via Interscope Records. The project spans nine tracks, combining her lush vocals and honest story-telling to deliver relatable and memorable songs that delve on her experiences with relationships, infatuation, making mistakes, and more. The 20-year-old singer-songwriter combines jazz, R&B, pop, and electronic music influences to create a genre-bending alternative-pop sound found in Room 206.
Coinciding with news is the release of her latest music video for “My House”, is a soulful melody that longingly reminisces on her relationship while inviting her lover to kick it at her house and features a fun R&B beat. The visual directed by Robbie Joseph depicts Hale as a rich housewife in a luxurious mansion participating in various activities like playing tennis, practicing self-care, and painting all by her lonesome. The video incorporates posh yet electrifying pastel-hued fashion paired with striking makeup delivering an overall magnetic look. The vibrant “My House” music video showcases Hale’s sense of humor and a keen eye for fashion. Speaking on the inspiration behind the video, Hale shares, “My house is the ultimate real housewife video, I wanted to showcase the fun but potential loneliness in being a luxurious high-class woman. It feels especially pertinent now in the time of isolation and quarantine to show a version of happiness whilst being home”.
