“This song is a look at the complexities of a long term relationship,” Katelyn Tarver explains. “The fear that can creep up when you feel disconnected, and the realization that you can’t predict what problems you’re going to run into when you decide to spend your life with someone. All you can do is promise to stay and fight for each other when those problems feel really big.”
This single is from Tarver’s new album Subject to Change that she recently announced to her 1M+ followers will be out Oct 15.
On Subject to Change, Tarver documents a turbulent period in her recent past. Co-written and produced with longtime collaborators including Davis Naish, David Arkwright and Justin Gammella (Ashe, Lennon Stella), the album comes out during Katelyn’s tour with JOHNNYSWIM. It follows her “Weekend Millionaires” (Childish Gambino producer Ludwig Goransson), “You Don’t Know” (55M+ views) and Cheryl Cole’s UK #1 single “Crazy Stupid Love” that she co-wrote w/ pop goliath Wayne Wilkins (Beyonce, Leona Lewis). She’s also starred in shows from Big Time Rush and Famous In Love to HBO’s Ballers with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and NBC’s primetime hit show Songland, which she won and led Old Dominion to record her song “Young.”
