The Psychedelic Furs are releasing an awesome new song “Evergreen,” today ahead of North American and European tour dates.
If the late poet Robert Frost were reviewing the song he’d say, the “[Evergreen] woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep.”
The song is beautiful, haunting, electro-spooky, proto-Gothish and very “Psych Furs-y.”
“Evergreen,” produced by Richard Fortus with David Maurice and The Psychedelic Furs, was recorded during the sessions for the band’s most recent effort, the highly acclaimed Made Of Rain album. Made Of Rain became the Furs’ second-highest charting UK Album ever and featured at the end-of-year Best Albums roundup in Mojo, Uncut, Classic Pop, ABC’s Good Morning America, and Vive Le Rock among others. Furs’ vocalist Richard Butler says “‘Evergreen’ is something that we did while we were putting together Made Of Rain. It’s a song about memory and the passing of time.”
The Psychedelic Furs’ Made Of Rain Tour runs throughout September – November and includes their eagerly anticipated debuts at New York City’s famed Apollo Theater (November 13th). The band will also be featured at 2022’s sold-out ‘Cruel World Festival’ in California on May 14th and 15th, along with Morrissey, Bauhaus, Blondie, and more…
