Pusho, a new voice in urban music, releases “1st Pick,” his debut album as a solo artist. The album was released simultaneously with an audiovisual devoted to the album’s opening track, also known as “1st Pick,” which was shot in the musician’s native Puerto Rico.
The album, released by Casablanca Records and GLAD Empire, features the work of numerous industry producers, including Montana The Producer, Xound, Oreoo Beatzz, J Castle, Masis, Yecko, and Jonniel Rhythmz, among others. Additionally, the album has collaborations with a number of elite artists, including Jay Wheeler, Miky Woodz, Darell, Juhn, Arcangel & De La Ghetto, Jon Z, Nio Garcia, and Secreto.
The first single off the album with Myke Towers, “La Llamada,” has already received more than 20 million streams on Spotify and more than 11 million views on YouTube. Additionally, it was a global trend that was observed in many nations, including the United States, Colombia, Spain, Argentina, and many others. His most recent YouTube video, “Arabia,” has already surpassed 1.5 million views.
The album’s title refers to Pusho’s favorite sport: basketball, where the most valuable player or the one who receives the most media attention is designated as the “first pick.” The artist personally identifies with this term because it has been chosen as the favorite of his or her generation of musicians.
“When I added the word “1st Pick” to my album, I was thinking a lot about my favorite player, Derrick Rose, who was selected first overall in the draft and whom no one believed in when he was injured. But many forgot that he was a “first pick” and that despite wind and waves, he gradually found his rhythm, becoming a threat to any team. I can really relate to that”, says Pusho.
The music video for the song “1st Pick” was recorded in Puerto Rico and is now viewable on the YouTube video-sharing website. It was created by Buena Vibra and Worldjunkies.
