Kaitlin Bell is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer in Portland, Oregon. She writes intimate and atmospheric folk-rock music, and is known for her honest lyrics, rhythmic guitar, and simple solos. Kaitlin makes something beautiful from situations that are not. Childhood bullies, love, heartbreak, loss during the pandemic, rainy days in Portland, and even cleaning her kitchen too much, all inspire her words. She finds healing in music and has gained an audience through her relatable and truthful songs. Kaitlin is inspired by artists such as Phoebe Bridgers and Alex G, but has a unique sound created through her lyrics, layered guitar, and echoey vocals.
She will be releasing an album on August 15th. She just released her second single preceding the album. This single, “Hurt Me,” says Bell, “is about getting hurt but understanding the hurt. It compares the pain of one relationship to how I used to love when I was a kid.” Her previous single, “Willamette,” was released on June 27, and explores, “love, commitment, and dancing along the Willamette River.”
