LYN LAPID RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE “DETACHED”

NEW YORK, NY – OCTOBER 7TH, 2022 – After releasing her debut EP this past spring, 20-year-old breakout songstress Lyn Lapid is back today with her latest single “Detached”.

On “Detached”, once again Lyn Lapid opens up without fear. Out of the gate, her emotionally charged vocals shine over glimmering piano and cinematic production. The verses give way to a question, “How are you so detached?” The song seesaws between intimate introspection and soaring vocal dynamics. “Detached” hints at the energy and honesty of Lyn’s next chapter, beginning now. She originally posted a viral TikTok teasing the track, which gathered over 1 million views and 200 thousand likes.

On the song, Lyn says, “A lot of the time when I find it difficult to pull inspiration from my own experiences, I tend to write about my friends and their experiences. I remember talking with my friend who was unsure about the guy she had been talking with. When they were together, he’d make her feel so special and say the sweetest things to her, but the moment she had to leave his side, he acted like she didn’t even exist to him. It turns out he had been doing this with multiple girls all at once, my friend being one of them. It made us both wonder how someone could make you feel like the most important person in the world, and then turn around and get with somebody else the next evening. That’s why I wrote detached, it’s about believing that you are ‘the one’ for a person, only to find out that they can and will replace you like you’re nothing.”

This fall, Lyn will perform sold-out headline shows in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.—see the full list of upcoming dates below. Over the past year, the singer and songwriter has toured across North America with Eric NamRicky Montgomery, and Claire Rosinkranz.

In April, Lyn dropped her long-awaited debut EP The Outsider, which was dedicated to all “the outsiders” like herself and features fan favorites like “In My Mind,” “I Guess That Was Goodbye,” and “The Outsider.” The EP received critical acclaim from BillboardUPROXXHypebae, and more, with Atwood Magazine proclaiming, “A dynamic, captivating mini-album that showcases the very best of 2022’s exceptional artist-to-watch Lyn Lapid.”

Surpassing over 428 million global streams across her catalogue and amassing over 5 million TikTok followers to date, Lyn Lapid has affirmed herself as one to watch in 2022. Stay tuned for more music to come!
