Bakersfield, CA – Today, J.E.S.S. announces the release of the lead single single, Siren off her upcoming eponymously named EP. A must-listen for fans of Metric, Cults and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the track, which was written and produced by Jessica Dela Cruz, showcases her signature sound and offers a fresh take on Indie Rock and Pop. The single, inspired by her lifelong passion for music, tells the story of finally embracing her calling after years of fighting it due to external pressures and familial expectations.
“This was actually the first song I ever wrote, and it’s been a long journey to get to this point,” said Jess. “Making music is a huge part of my identity and my soul’s purpose, and I feel most alive and true to myself when I’m creating or listening to it.”

“Although I went many years subduing that passion while chasing other pursuits, I could never really escape and would always somehow come back to the desire until I could no longer run away from it and chose to embrace it. I used to feel like my dreams in music were like a cross to bear or an unattainable obsession that could potentially be detrimental to my well-being if I gave up everything else to pursue it,” she adds. “I think the real difference now is that I feel like I have a better understanding of myself, so I’ve decided to embrace music fully and make it a priority.”
The accompanying music video, shot in Oceanside, San Diego, further explores J.E.S.S.’s journey towards embracing her passion for music. Siren is set to be released on February 10th and is available for pre-order now. While she has not yet had the opportunity to perform live, the artist is looking forward to the possibility of performing Siren and other new material in the future.
