Weston Estate had a pretty good 2022.
The emerging five piece dropped their debut EP Maggie Valley, which drew much deserved critical acclaim. Their singles “So Good” and “Drown” amassed tens of millions of streams. And they performed at two major music festivals – Wonderfront and Firefly.
Pretty good.
But 2023 is shaping up to be even better for the guys who fancy themselves as “ya aunty’s favorite boy band.” In fact, the low-fi, alt-pop phenomenon has just released “Where Do We Go,” the first single from their forthcoming, sophomore EP.
“The song is about a relationship that has come to an end,” shares band member Marco Luka.
“Throughout the song, we look back on the bittersweet moments from former relationships and wonder if we made the right decision in leaving. A closer look into the song shows that it is also about the introspection that comes from post-breakup clarity. The introspective dive one takes shows the inner dialogue that exists within us as we grapple with carving a path for ourselves while trying to balance the noise we hear from the outside world.”
Almost immediately after the release of “Where Do We Go,” Weston Estate will embark on a major tour in support of pop powerhouse, Keshi. The U.S. portion of the tour kicks off at Bayfront Park Amphitheater in Miami and culminates with a two-night stint at Radio City Music Hall. Following their March tour dates, this summer, Weston Estate will be embarking on a nationwide headline tour across the US. Full list of tour dates to be announced soon.
Based in North Carolina, Weston Estate is comprised of Marco Luka (vocals); Srikar Nanduri (guitar), Manas Panchavati (vocals), Tanmay Joshi (vocals), and Abhi Manhass (production, bass). The band draws inspiration from artists like Daniel Caesar, Young Thug, and Frank Ocean while tapping into their own cultural influences (all are of Indian descent except for Luka who is first generation Cuban American).
Undoubtedly, Weston Estate is carving out a new space that is entirely their own. To date, the band has amassed well over 100 million streams and appeared on Spotify’s US Viral Chart. Their hit single “Pears” was featured on the hit Netflix show, Never Have I Ever. With an eclectic range of personalities and undeniably infectious alt-pop sound, Weston Estate continues to bring joy to their rapidly expanding fan base.
