“Painfully Scottish” NATI. focuses on starting again with newest folk-pop single ‘Open Road’

Multi faceted Scottish Singer- Songwriter NATI. drops newest single  ‘Open Road’– the fourth single from her upcoming EP ‘Older’ set to release 20th October 2023, ahead of the ‘Older’ tour beginning in November 2023.

Co-written by NATI.’s hero Newton Faulkner, ‘Open Road’ focuses on starting again. After leaving a 7 year relationship, starting her dream career in music, and moving away from home for the first time, NATI.’’s life was quite literally an open road. The folk-pop track features NATI.’s signature “painfully Scottish” vocals over an upbeat folk-laden rhythm, with beautifully layered harmonies reminiscent of early 2000s Pop and R&B.

“I went from living with a partner at the time, working a 9-5 and not doing much else to travelling everywhere playing music. At times, it’s wonderful and other times it’s terrifying. One of my best friends told me during this time that I can’t be brave if I’m not scared. Luckily I have people just like her around me. My manager, my current partner, my family and my friends. People who love me and support me in all of my endeavours. I took the love and the bravery they gave me and decided to begin again… and here we are. I remember the day I wrote this song with one of my heroes, Newton Faulkner. It was a beautiful day and before we even began writing he just asked me how I was doing. Within an hour the song was done. He has been gracious enough to write with me, teach me and has an incredible ability to make me open up about my thoughts and fears. He knows how to get an honest song out of you and I sincerely admire that.”

Hailing from a quaint coastal haven in the heart of Scotland, NATI. has ignited a global phenomenon that’s shaking up the music scene. Shedding her former name Natidreddd, she emerges as NATI., symbolising a thrilling transformation perfectly timed for her electrifying upcoming tour at the end of this year.  In the pulsating rhythm of 2023, NATI. has not only amassed an impressive near 2 million followers across the digital soundscape but has also hit the road, sharing stages with legends like Tidelines, Newton Faulkner, and Simply Red. Those captivating live-streamed shows not only enthralled fans worldwide but also emboldened NATI. to bid farewell to her 9-to-5 job and wholeheartedly embrace her musical destiny.

Last November, NATI. embarked on a triumphant UK journey, leaving sold-out imprints all across Scotland, with the legendary King Tut’s witnessing a lightning-fast sellout show within hours. The pinnacle of her journey was marked by a monumental headline performance at Glasgow’s St. Luke’s in 2023. NATI. has been crafting a tapestry of creativity, writing heartfelt original compositions. Her debut single, crafted alongside the visionary Rich Turvey of ‘Blossoms’ fame, is out now. The stage was set for a scorching summer as NATI. headlined festivals and offered glimpses of her debut EP through a series of captivating singles, paving the way for its full release in the heart of October.

NATI.’s story stands as a living testament that dreams are more than mere fantasies – they can indeed materialise into reality. Just 3 years ago, NATI. was playing the guitar in her bedroom with the goal of keeping herself entertained during lockdown. Little did she anticipate that she would also bring smiles to the faces of hundreds of thousands of people each week, cultivating a community that adored NATI. not only for her musical talent and dreamy vocals but also for her immense, warm, and inclusive personality that uplifts spirits all around the world. ‘Open Road’ will be released on 8th September 2023.
