Listen to C My Side HERE

Released September 1st, C My Side brings deeply emotive flows and melodies from the 19-year-old Philadelphia artist to elevate himself past the tales of growing up in the streets explored on his debut 5ive. It’s part of SheedTs’ transition from the heavy beats and dramatic lyrics in his early work to the new experiences he’s getting introduced to and how his life has changed for the better. Born Rasheed Rose, SheedToSturdy (abbreviated as SheedTs) is the walking definition of being “too sturdy.” In his words, to be “sturdy” means you are someone who stands on principle in everything that you do. Growing up in Philly, the 19-year-old rhymer wanted to find his own path and be a leader, refusing to follow in someone else’s footsteps and get stuck with the options presented to him in the projects. After working on a speech impediment when he was younger, writing came naturally to him. “I used to take this dictionary and I used to write out these big words and different sentences and mix them up, put them in different ways. And then I gained fluency in speech and that’s when I started writing stories, scripts, movies, stuff like that. And then I moved on to poetry and rapping.”

A steady buzz has been formatting around Sheedts since 2021 when Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast host Gillie Da King, who posted a recording of SheedTs rapping the lyrics to “Eversince” on his Instagram page. In 2022, he dropped two projects — February’s collaborative tape with Mal Meezy called 2 Sturdy and December’s 5ive. Both encompass SheedTs’ ear for picking hard drill beats (“Laser Tag”) and his ability to draw out his pain to create vivid raps about Philly street life (“Rockin’ & Rollin’”, “Old Times,” “Cold Sweep”). In 2023, Baroline Diaz announced the launch of her new label Great Day Records, serving as the label’s chairwoman. In February, Diaz signed SheedTs as her first artist.
