There’s always more territory to discover, and Stockholm-born singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Graham Lake, is on a relentless quest to break the mold. Since storming onto the scene in 2021, this 22-year-old prodigy has ignited the industry with a meteoric rise. His tracks, including the electrifying debut “Focus,” have amassed over 21 million streams, graced international airwaves, and seen prominent features in major productions like FIFA23, MTV’s Siesta Key, and the Netflix global #1 series Young Royals. Collaborations with artists such as Avelino (UK), Dro Kenji (US), and Bankrol Hayden (US) have further solidified his position as a phenomenon to watch. While Graham may still be a hidden gem for some, the world now eagerly awaits the release of his debut EP Elisabeth.
“Elisabeth EP is my first body of work and it’s a homage to my grandma who passed, one of my biggest role models. It contains music I created both while she was still alive and after. Some of these songs have been performed many times for her in my kitchen and they have a very strong connection to my memory of her. She was my number one fan, and still is from above. I created the EP for everybody out there struggling in life – it can be loss of loved ones, it can be setbacks in your career, it can be just one of those lower points in life,” Lake explains.
The EP contains seven tracks, carefully curated to encompass the precious relationship between Lake and Elisabeth –from the lessons she passed on, to their collective memories he holds dearly. As Graham describes it himself, the EP is both for the parties and the funerals. Amongst the seven tracks is lead single “This ain’t love” featuring US-rapper Bankrol Hayden.
Graham shares, “I’ve always had a sweet spot for listening to old music, and nowadays I really enjoy incorporating it into my work. I feel like ‘This ain’t love’ is a song showing a broader picture of who I am musically, I’ve released a bunch of full-on pop stuff until now and I’m stoked to keep experimenting and showing you guys where my heart is. I made this song to give people three minutes of just feel-good vibes, confidence, no stress, no worries –just being present. I’m here to show that my music is for everyone.”
In the last year alone, Graham’s graced renowned stages at festivals like By:Larm in Norway, Tallin Music Week in Estonia, Sweden Makes Music in the United States, and Brännbollsyran in Sweden. Furthermore in 2024, he’s confirmed to captivate audiences at the prestigious Eurosonic festival in the Netherlands. But the crescendo of Graham’s journey doesn’t stop there. In 2023, he reached a new pinnacle as he earned a coveted spot in the Apple Music ‘Up Next Nordics’ program, a true testament to his exceptional potential.
The multifaceted talent proves that he continues to push the envelope as he explores the outer reaches of pop, fashioning an unpredictable and undeniable signature style underscored by guitar-driven production, dancefloor-ready beats, and downright unshakable vocals. International critics have hailed Graham’s style as a “flawless fusion of rap and electronic pop1,” commending his “sleek production and hypnotic vocals2”. The Elisabeth EP arrives on November 17th and will be accompanied by a full-length ‘visual EP’ produced by CANVAS Studio.
