NEW YORK, NY (December 8, 2023) – Aligning with the impending release of their album “How Have You Been?“, Giant Rooks unveil their latest single “Fight Club” today via Mercury/Republic Records. Following their winter single “Cold Wars,” the Rooks are generating excitement for their second album.
With “Fight Club,” Giant Rooks articulate a sense of internal conflict, isolation, and the battle for recognition. The song mirrors the compensation for insecurities and complexities, along with the competition for indifference, especially within the digital realm. “Say what you want, pay what you want” – completely detached from narrative opinions, “Fight Club” poignantly and candidly encapsulates the inner conflict. The journey proceeds towards the band’s second album with this track.
“How Have You Been?” will be released on 2 February 2024 and promises a wealth of memorable pop moments, with its unmistakable Rooks sound, catchy melodies, polished lyrics and sophisticated songwriting.
Since that first album, a lot has happened to the band, consisting of singer Frederik Rabe, guitarist Finn Schwieters, bassist Luca Göttner, keyboardist Jonathan Wischniowski and drummer Finn Thomas – and that’s something of an understatement. “Rookery” reached number 3 in the album charts and amassed over 200 million streams in 2020, picking up awards and selling out tours across Germany and Europe. Things then quietened down and the band concentrated on writing new material and on their live shows.
