Following the success of her critically acclaimed album, Lotus Glow, released in 2023, singer/bassist/producer Adi Oasis is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of her single “Serena (ft. Samm Henshaw)”. The updated version of the song, which first appeared on Lotus Glow, features a collaboration with UK soul sensation Samm Henshaw. This special edition also includes a captivating remix by Tentendo.
“Serena Williams is one of my all-time heroes, and one of the most important figures of our time,” says Adi. “Because my album talks a lot about being a Black woman, I wanted to honor Serena as a role model for Black female resilience and grace. She pushed boundaries and broke racial barriers, often paying a heavy price in the process. And yet she rose above it and showed us all what she was made of, paving the way for millions of Black girls with big dreams”
Adi Oasis’s journey through Lotus Glow is a testament to her artistic evolution. The album has garnered over 30 million streams globally, receiving widespread acclaim in publications such as Elle, Vogue, Numero, Rolling Stone, Wonderland, Dazed and more, along with prominent placements in editorial playlists across various streaming platforms. Her magnetic live performances have captivated audiences worldwide, leading to a growing radio presence in North America, the UK, France, Portugal, the Netherlands and Brazil.
“Serena” continues Adi’s story, focusing on the powerful influence of inspiring Black women who have gone before her. As for working with Samm Henshaw, Adi says “I’ve been a fan of Samm’s for a long time, and have been trying to work with him for years. When I heard him on ‘Serena’, it felt like he was always meant to be part of this song. It’s one of my favorite tracks on the album, and now it’s even better.”
Adi Oasis’s upcoming 2024 tour, spanning the US and Europe, promises to further elevate her live presence, following her successful stints alongside celebrated artists like Lenny Kravitz, Anderson .Paak, Masego and Thundercat, and appearing at festivals ranging from Newport Jazz Fest to Love Supreme, Central Park Summerstage, Afropunk, Cross the Tracks and more.
