Some Have Fun is the sixth studio album by singer-songwriter Roxanne Fontana and it is extremely retro-cool and fun.
Roxanne says of the new album, “Phantasmagorgy [her previous album, released in 2022] was
sort of the flowery window box on a house. With Some Have Fun, you’re in the house. It’s a serious place. Maybe you’ll want to run out.”
“I am ecstatic with the way this album has come out,” Roxanne states. “It’s got the best music I’ve heard
from anyone in ages. How can you go wrong with guitars from Mat Treiber, Tom O’Driscoll, and myself?
There’s chops, there’s a range of moods, it rocks, all within the framework of my melodic tunes and non-banal lyrics. No one else is doing this.”
Other musicians on the album include drummer Steve Hands, renowned for his work with Peter Perrett; popular London post-punk Alan Blizzard; bassists Dale Gordon, Spencer Hannabuss, and Richard Vernon of Ricky Warwick Band and ex of The Mission; critically acclaimed singer-songwriter-musician Pete Kosanovich; musical virtuoso from America’s Deep South Arvid Smith. The album also features keyboards and some backing vocals from Roxanne’s phenomenal 21-year-old daughter Suki Marie, a Trisomy 21 young adult.
New album available on digital downloads and CDs from Sprezzatura Records.
