Those who read Grantland may have seen Jonah Keri’s recent preview of the San Francisco Giants, where he predicted that their stellar pitching will be betrayed again by another punchless lineup of veteran retreads, for which he excoriated general manager Brian Sabean for not improving. In general it’s hard to argue with Keri’s reasoning. The …

New Season, the latest album from England’s singer/songwriter Luke Leighfield, is easy to listen to and also packs a light punch. Songs like the soulful, It’s You, to the slightly heavier, Slow Down, make this new work from Leighfield a versatile collection of songs. Although there’s nothing really new in Leighfield’s material either musically or …
If you don’t know about them, Skinny Lister is a well loved folk-fusion band from the UK that was dubbed “the hardest working band” in that rainy country and are said to have a sound reminiscent of the Pogues. Below is the video for “If The Gaff Don’t Let Us Down,” which the band describes …

When you love pugs, it is easy to give them credit for intellect they probably don’t have. Poor pugs are afraid of many small household items, and shampoo bottles are an obvious one. Pugs also hate baths. A cat would never get this worked up over shampoo bottles.

I realize this is anecdotal at best, but as much as I want to like CF bulbs, I’ve found that in addition to the extra cost, the time they take to “warm up”, the sickly, gradually-degrading light they produce, and the fact that they don’t work with dimmers, they have consistently died FASTER than their …
I think many people would enjoy this. It’s a self created pet photo book in potentially vivid color. You order online and they send it to you. I haven’t tried it. I don’t know if it works. Thanks to Dennis Shin, who adds, “I’d buy the book above with the dude in shades, even tho …

A Facebook friend recently posted a saying ,”No Jesus, No Peace. Know Jesus, Know Peace.” John 14:27. As often happens on FB, there was the usual detractors saying things like, “Knowing how Christians are, I’d rather have no peace.” Two things dawned on me as I looked at the saying. The first is a challenge …

This is Peter Gabriel’s closing song, “Biko,” at Amnesty International’s “Conspiracy of Hope Tour” on June 15, 1986. It was something like a funeral in there until 80,000 of us started singing the “Uhh, uhh, ooohhh’s”. Powerful stuff. – James Bresnahan http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/peter-gabriel/video/biko_1005240.html
